Ahhh the blog I’ve been wanting to post and I just know everyone’s wanting to read is finally here!! Because I LOVE Texas! (And also because Jackson said I wouldn’t post it so naturally… I had to)

I have now been in 5 different countries (6 if you count Turkey) and in each place I’ve been anytime I’ve said “I’m from Texas” I’ve gotten a different kind of reaction than my friends that are from somewhere else, usually it’s something to the effect of “ahh Texas, there’s something different about y’all isn’t there?” Or “oh y’all are one of a kind” or my personal favorite “y’all have a lot of pride in that state, don’t some of you even claim to be a different country?” And my answer is usually “yeah there’s something great about that place, it’s the finest portion of the globe that has ever blessed my vision.”

I firmly believe God blessed Texas, and here’s why…sweet tea, southern charm, weve produced some of the best country music legends (hey King George), the fact that everything (including Texas itself) is bigger and better in Texas (hey Big Tex), And don’t even get me started on the food… actually let’s stop there for a second (it’s one of my favorite parts) chilli is the state food, if you’ve had a bowl of Mac-n-cheese then you’ve had your daily veggies, homemade pecan pie is not only the state pie the best thing you’ll ever have (and I must say my aunt Joyce has the best), oh and our state snack is chips and salsa (if a restaurant doesn’t have good salsa… I’m probably not eating there) and anything is good fried (sign me up for that one) Honestly what’s not to love about Texas??? Oh yeah we also got any kinda land that strikes your fancy! And weather to accommodate anyone’s preference (sometimes all in the same day)

In Gods country you can see the beauty of his artwork displayed at anytime, weather is in the great small towns (some so small there population is 3), or the Texas sunset over lake Travis (or anywhere else really), we’ve got fields of bluebonnets, bright skies, and blue bell! Oh and we even got a few weirdos in Austin (but they don’t really count).

I apologize if I left anything out but if I named all the great things the blog would just go on forever. But drop your favorite things about Texas in the comments so we can all see ‘em!!

Random Facts
•God really did bless Texas with his own hand
•Blue Bonnets are my favorite
•If you need to find someone in a small town just wait till Friday and you’ll find ‘em at the Football game
•The trip I took with the Texas history club to the Alamo was one of my favorite school trips
•someone saying “Bless your heart” isn’t necessarily a good thing..

Things I’ve learned
•Nobody else takes Texas history (it’s a shame…maybe they could learn a thing or two)
•Only 16 other states have a state pledge (most of them don’t know it or don’t even know they have one)
•As far as I know Texas is the only state that recites their pledge daily (in public school)
•”floatin’ the river” isn’t a term everyone understands
•Football in other states isn’t the biggest high school sport
•Not everyone says “y’all”, “ain’t”, “gonna”, And “bless your heart”
•It’s actually pronounced “What-a-burger” not “Water-Burger”

I got 34 days till I’m back home in Texas!!
