Hello Family, Friends, & Supporters!

From Atlanta to Denver, Denver to L.A., L.A. to Shanghai, Shanghai to Singapore, and Singapore to Australia. My team and I finally made it Byron Bay. We decided to take the “scenic route” to our destination. 😉

We have spent the past week acclimating to the summer weather, the Australian accents, and the beach town a few miles away from our host home. We will be working with YWAM for the next few weeks. We are so excited to partner with this organization! We will help facilitate their “Pancakes in the Park” event, which is held every Thursday night downtown Byron Bay. We will also participate in daily street evangelism and ministering to the local community.

Also, one way YWAM has encouraged our team is to be Humble, Available, and Teachable (HAT). And that is exactly what I pray for my team as we serve these next few weeks. And this is what I pray for you! May God always find us ready to listen and obey.

And just for fun – here are a few pictures I want to share with you. What an incredible journey it has been so far!

Who needs an oven?! My teammate, Ashley, used an iron and tin foil to make quesadillas in our hotel room at our Launch Weekend.

A ministry moment took place in the L.A. Airport as we helped a man with Down Syndrome into the airport. He was anxious and nervous to travel. We were able to pray for both him and his sister. He was reluctant at first, but in the end he was smiling, making jokes, and giving out hugs!

Just a few of our packs and a few teammates waiting at the L.A. Airport during one of our long layovers to Australia (14 hour layover to be exact).

My small team! We travel together as a squad and then we serve in our small teams throughout the week.

Iced coffee in Shanghai! Gotta fuel up! 😉

All my gear and preparing for bed. (P.S. I did bring a sleeping bag, but it’s really not needed in this 90 degree weather!)

Oh, and sometimes your squad mate has the same shirt as you. It happens!

And a picture of the beach. So beautiful!

So, welcome to Byron Bay! Thank you all for helping me get here. I look forward to sharing more stories as my team continues to serve.

Until next time!

G’day, mates!

Melissa
