Hello from Sri Lanka!

It sure has been a fast month of travel and ministry for my team. We have enjoyed our time in Sri Lanka, but we move onward to India this upcoming weekend! How is this possible? Time flies when you’re having fun, right?!

I hope “spring has sprung” for many of you back home. I’m praying that the Lord brings a fresh renewal in your spirit just as He is bringing a fresh renewal upon the earth. My team and I are experiencing “summertime” everywhere we go, but we praise the Lord for sunshine that brightens our days and for the sunshine that He creates in our hearts.

My team and I definitely “felt the sunshine” and experienced so many fun moments this past month. Here’s a few memories I think you’ll enjoy…

This monk knew how to take a selfie! 😉

We had a dance party with new friends!

My teammate and I were sprayed by a friendly elephant!

However, even though we experienced so much joy as a team and we made lots of memories, we still encountered some “heavy spiritual days” as a team. What I mean by this is that Sri Lanka is a nation that is just now awakening to the truth of the gospel. Even though there are some believers in this nation, there are still so many people who have never heard the gospel! They have never read the Bible! They have never even heard of the name of Jesus! Oh, how our hearts grieved at this revelation.

So during our time in Dambulla, my team and I felt the Lord telling us to simply pray! Specifically, we prayed near the largest golden Buddha in the world.

And I believe, that is where God really wants all of us to begin our days anyway – praying with Him, interceding for the lost! And honestly, this is what I want to remember most from my time in Sri Lanka – that He hears our prayers, that He is here to save, and that one day we will be with Him forever!

And isn’t this just what we celebrated this past Easter weekend? The resurrection of Christ?! My friends, what a privilege we have of sharing this good news with the world around us!

I pray God always gives me “eyes to see” as I travel this world. For “anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved!”

Until next time! Much love!

Melissa
