What am I even talking about?! Joy, my friends. Simple every day joys!
So many times in my life I focus on my struggles. I focus on my frustrations. I focus on my future. Sometimes I miss the simple things that the Lord has given me. With that said, I thought I would share a few things I am thankful for this week. A few simple joys…
-Morning walks with my friend and teammate Andrea. We get to workout and share what God is teaching us each day.
-Daily worship with my team. There’s a lot of power when we praise God together!
-Eggs! Ha! We cook them every day for breakfast. We appreciate having a kitchen and for all of that protein! ๐
-Laughter. My team is hilarious!
-Western toilets. Believe me – when I get home, I will never take “American Plumbing” for granted ever again. ๐
-Cooler weather! We’ve chased summer all year. It’s a blessing not to sweat!
-Hospitality from strangers. There are some amazing people around the world full of honor and grace and kindness.
-Our hosts in Turkey. We have loved partnering with the local church in this community.
-And God’s every day faithfulness during my journey on this race.
I don’t know about you, but I want to embrace it! To embrace the season I’m in! I want to enjoy it! To enjoy the season I’m in. And I want some more of it. I want some more of Him and the life that He has given me – whatever that looks like!
I know this season for you might be hard and busy and stressful, but I encourage you to take a moment and thank God for the simple things. Like me, you might find joy in what God provides for you on a daily basis.
So thank you Turkey for an amazing month! Thank you Lord for all of these simple things! And thank you all for your continued support!
Here’s to finishing month 9 with joy and entering month 10 with great anticipation!
Much love,
Melissa
Ecclesiastes 2:24-26a
“There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? For to the one who pleases him God has given wisdom and knowledge and joy…”
Oh, and here’s those eggs we’re so grateful for! ๐
