Recently, my team and I went “Yurt Camping” in Kyrgyzstan. No worries – I didn’t know what kind of camping that was until this last month! 🙂 But it was an amazing time where we were able to rest, reconnect as a team, and spend some much needed time with the Lord in the beautiful land of Kyrgyzstan!

During this time, the Lord reminded me how important it is to slow down and simply “be” in His presence. If you’re like me – you are constantly on a schedule with responsibilities pulling at you from every direction. At times, it’s hard to find that quiet time you need with the Lord. Also, if you’re not careful, you’ll begin to look to external comforts to help you through each day.

But while on this race, this is what the Lord has been teaching me:

*If I look to myself – I will be disappointed.
*If I look to others – I will be disappointed.
*If I look home, for its comforts – I will be disappointed.
*If I look to this world – I will be disappointed.

These past few months, the Lord has been removing all of my comforts to fill me with more of Himself! And honestly, it has been a painful process, but what joy and peace I have found from creating space to be with Him, and to find all of my satisfaction in Him!

Even if all you have is 15 minutes to sit down and connect with Jesus – do it! You’ll be amazed at the peace and strength you will find when you surrender your daily life, plans, and responsibilities to Him. Believe me, He don’t disappoint you!

So, won’t you come? Come to Jesus. He alone will satisfy. He alone will quench your thirst!

Isaiah 55:1-2

Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters;

and he who has no money, come, buy and eat!

Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,

and your labor for that which does not satisfy?

John 6:35

“Jesus said to them,

‘I am the bread of life;

whoever comes to me shall not hunger,

and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.'”

Much love,
Melissa

P.S.
I found some peaceful moments with the Lord in Kyrgyzstan! I encourage you to go find your peaceful place…
