Why? What’s the point? Where am I going? Am I loved? Do I have what it takes? What’s the purpose of my life?

If we are honest, these questions constantly appear in our lives when we encounter difficult seasons. It’s hard to believe that God is good when we suffer or we find no joy in the life He has called us to live.

Also, truth be told, who wants to decorate a Christmas tree or battle the shopping crowds when we lose sight of who we are and where we are going?

Or perhaps like me, God has revealed His calling for your life, but you find yourself fearful, doubtful, and at times, faithless in trusting His plans.

So why? Why do we run this race? Why should we not just give up and give in?

Because Christ has come!

I’m going to say that one more time…

Christ Has Come!

Is this not the answer to all of our questions? Does this not bring joy and comfort to our lives?

His humble birth, unnoticed by many of His day, and forgotten by many of us today, is a reminder that God has a purpose for each of our lives. He brought Christ into the world to set us free! And He has brought you and I into this world for a purpose, at times, only He can see!

So when the questions arise and you find yourself unsure of who you are, remember the “babe, wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” One day He grew up and He fulfilled His purpose. And like Him, we continue to grow, we continue to follow Jesus, and He eventually becomes the purpose behind everything we are and everything we do in this life.

So today, I pray for you, my friends! I pray amidst the hustle, the bustle, the shopping, and the baking that we remember the true purpose of this season. Christ has come and we are free!

“For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

– Isaiah 9:6

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
