I’ve been in Moldova for three weeks, and what have we done? Honestly, not much. Our contact Vitally asked us to spend the month praying. The way Christians tend to pray here is to assemble in church and pray as well as worship together at once. Ohh and you
can’t sit down during this time, because effective prayer is done while
standing or kneeling. So everyday we come together in church and I listen to people shout, to people sing, to people cry, to people speaking in tongues, to people doing and
saying what they need in order to be connected with the Lord.
I have much respect for our contact Vitally, and have honored him by attending the mandatory daily church services, but I just can’t seem to pray the way he wants. In this part of the world it just seems hard to connect with God, like I have to fight to feel his presence. Since we have so
much free time on our hands I take a walk around town each day. It’s my way of staying close to him, because I get to admire his creation, and thank him. On my
walks I get to be real with the Lord, because it’s just him and me. I get to enjoy his creativity and uniqueness, I get to understand his power and trust
him more. I get to experience peace and restoration. When you walk around and
see how intricate everything really is, the verse in Matthew that says ” worry not for the birds of the air and the lilies of the field are all provided for,” really convinces you that the Lord is that almighty.
So on my daily walks while admiring all the wonders of creation, I began to truly wonder more about the Lord I serve. Last month the Lord asked me to make some changes, and so I did. This month I found myself asking how I can understand and experience more of his wonder? My prayer was answered along the walks. How can
someone experience joy, serenity, love, peace, hope, beauty, and power all at
once in a field? I don’t know really how to explain what I am experiencing other than my thoughts are always of Him.
Here are some pictures of the paths I took. Enjoy 😀
