It feels kind of weird knowing that last week I was in a
town in Romania, and now I am living a few miles down in a whole new country.
Back in the day Moldova didn’t exist, it’s really just an extension of Romania,
but after the whole communism thing, they became a country. We live in another
small town, but its a lot poorer here than in Romania, and it does have its own
cultural differences then its neighbor.

The people dress the same, the language is the same, but the
atmosphere is different. The mood is stricter, and the people seem more
close-minded. I may not be making sense but the cultural climate here is
similar to Romania and the Eastern Europe vibe, however it seems more severe
here. On a lighter note our team has changed up a tad. We are no longer
Transformers, and are now called Chosen with three new additions to the team.
The links of my team members are below and to the left of the screen, if you
would like to get to know them a bit.

Ministry in Moldova will be an interesting month. In Romania
our ministry was always random, you never knew what was in store for you that
day, and it seems like it’s the same here. We arrived in Cornesti, Moldova on Wednesday morning
of last week, and since being here I can say that:

  1. It’s
    very cold!!!
(I left the states packed with just shirts and shorts)
  2. Everything
    is amazingly cheap
    (beanie + socks + sweats = $4 American dollars)
  3. Home ministries are a lot of fun… main goal is to establish relationships
  4. We
    weed and garden the land
(my hands and nails now look
    like the earth)
  5. We
    pray a lot!
Like I understand what pray without ceasing really means now
  6. It’s beautiful,
rolling hills, lots of farms… will post pictures soon
  7. Marmots
are surprisingly an expensive delicacy here
; they are referred to as
beavers back in the states, although here they look like overgrown rodents. A picture of them is below.

Also in case you were wondering what normal living conditions were in this part of the world, I have added enlightening pictures below.
