So I will give you the rundown so far of what has taken place in Haiti since we’ve been here.

We arrived super late to our ministry site. What was suppose to be Saturday at 7 pm ended up being 12:30 am on Sunday. We were told to rest and be ready to go to church at 7:30 in the morning. That sounded like a few solid hours of sleep, but when construction begins at 5 in the morning, the idea of sleep is a lovely dream.

After church we piled into the back of a flatbed with our packs and drove to the site that we will be camping at for the next month. After we unpacked and settled into our tents we took a boat ride to a beach that had beautiful crystal clear water. I could see the little striped fish float around me as I stood looking around at the anemone before me. It was a lovely experience!

On Monday morning we awoke bright and early at around 5:30. Breakfast is usually served around 6 – 6:30 and immediately after breakfast we were told that we would head out. As to what we would be doing, I wasn’t sure at the time. So what exactly are we doing in Haiti you may wonder. Well I can assure you that it is the toughest yet most rewarding thing you can do! Have i got your attention yet????

We Build Homes!!! For the past four days I have never sweat nor worked so hard in my life. We are building homes for families where their original house once stood. So sometimes we are walking to the highest point in a mountain, while other times we may walk deep into a jungle. We go to the site and either build the wooden frame structure, or the structure may already be there and we have to tarp the house. Both are equally grueling and time consuming.

I would totally upload pictures, but we’re not allowed to because the pictures apparently take up to much bandwith or something. I’m not computer savvy so I don’t know how to hack some pictures on, but do be sure that when I have a chance I will throw up an album of pictures about Haiti.Â
