Apologies for not blogging, within the past month, we have
not had Internet. However I will begin at the beginning and break it up into
smaller blogs.
In the month of December our team was in Senga Bay, Malawi. Our contacts are a family who run a lodge on the lake of Malawi.
Their lodge was intended for missionaries who needed a break, and rejuvenation physically, mentally, and spiritually. One problem about that
intended vision is that their neighbor next door to them is a Muslim mosque.
There is currently a spiritual and somewhat physical battle-taking place in Malawi. The Devil has his stronghold over the villagers with their witchcraft;
Evangelicals are claiming the land, as well as Muslims. We all know in the
end that the Lord will most surely win, Hallelujah, but it is a struggle to
relax and be rejuvenated when such an intense battle is taking place.
Here’s the view I walked out to each morning
In this month Daniel, Blake, and I were the school building
group. Our contact was helping the community by building them a much-needed
school.
Another group were building a coffee shop, and they needed help during construction, so we helped them out whenever they
needed a hand.

During this month of December we needed to figure out our
ATL (Ask the Lord), for January. So our team went to have quiet time. We all in various ways saw movement, hardship, and the idea of South. It
was apparent that the Lord wanted us to travel south, but not in the normal way
of transportation (which is usually by bus), but travel in a way that would
entail hardship. We came up with the idea of a road trip. Our leaders (Josh and
Lia) were with us at the time, and not keen on the idea of traveling
around Africa, nor was AIM, but we wanted to listen to the Lord and spoke with
our contact.
Daniel and Tommy went up to our contact and explained the
idea that the Lord had given us to travel to South Africa in the form of a road
trip. Their response, “if that’s the Lord’s will, then here are my keys”. Our contact actually had a truck that
was registered in Cape Town, South Africa and they had been meaning to take it
down and sell it. So we were blessed with a vehicle as well as an itinerary of
how to get down to South Africa. Our contacts have made the drive before from
Malawi to Cape Town, and they in a ridiculously organized way made
a book for us to use on our travels. It consisted of various maps, car
information, as well as the receipts for the prices of all the border crossings
(because bribing is normal). So the date was set for the 2nd of
January to begin our travels to Zambia, Botswana, and eventually Cape Town,
South Africa. The intended length of travel was 8 days. Our main focus was to Ask the Lord who he wanted us to speak to, and to obey him.
