Now introducing….MAIDENS OF VALOR!!

It took us a while to come up with a name that we felt encompassed both who we are and who we want to become.  Let me explain a little bit about our choice:

Maiden: an unmarried woman, a woman in process

Valor:  courage, bravery, boldness, fearlessness, lion-hearted

We are 5 women who desire to embody both the gentleness and boldness of Christ.

  •  We are committed to sharpening each other as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17) in order that we may each look more like Christ.

  • We declare that we are strong and courageous, because we know we carry inside of us “his incomparably great power for us who believe” (Ephesians 1:19)

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be women of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.”
1 Corinthians 16:13-14

As we prayed together the other night about what words we felt the Lord was giving us for our team, we came up with the following…

-With EVERYTHING; Speaking Life; Hephzibah (which means ‘my delight is in her’), Sisterhood,
             Confidence; Femininity; Beloved Warriors; Royalty; Gentle but Mighty; Call each other UP; Chosen;
Catalyst; True Beauty; Rooted and established in LOVE…Maidens of Valor 🙂

We also made declarations as a team of things we felt the Lord calling us forward in. I’ll just share a few with you so you can understand the heart of our team:

  • We will be a team who is rooted and established in the love of Christ (Eph 3:17-19)
  • We will be a team who walks in a manner worthy of the Lord, who grows in knowledge and bears good fruit (Col 1:10)
  • We will be a team that doesn’t withhold good from one another. We’re a team who seeks  to bless and honor each other in our actions (Prov 3:27)
  • We will be a team that has a fierce capacity to love (Prov 8:17) and learn (Prov 12:1)
  • We will be committed to challenging one another to be more Christ-like, spurring each other on towards love and good deeds (Heb 10:23-25)
  • We will be women who walk in maturity and confidently proclaim the words the Lord has given us (Jer 1:4-10)
  • We are women who walk in the light and call others into the light (1 John 1:7; Eph 5:8-11)

The other day as I was praying for our team, praying for direction and vision, the Lord gave me the words HIGHER and DEEPER.

Immediately I thought of a song my teammate recently shared with me, a song that I feel is our “team
song” and truly embodies our hearts.

¨And I could hold on, I could hold on to who I am and never let You change me from the inside
And I could be safe, I could be safe here in Your arms and never leave home, never let these walls down
But you have called me higher
You have called me deeper
And I will go where you will lead me Lord
And I will be Yours
I will be Yours for all my life
So let Your mercy light the path before me

Call me higher  by All Sons and Daughters

It is a new season; the Lord is doing a new thing.
He is calling us to new depths and new heights.
Pray for us in this new season, that the Lord would give us the courage and valor to go boldly into where He is calling us to.

“Pray also for Maidens of Valor, that whenever we open our mouths, words may be given to us so that we will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel…pray that we may declare it fearlessly, as we should.”  Ephesians 6:19-20 (modified)
