Guess what?
We’ve got a new team name! And for good reason…at our most recent debrief in Brasov, Romania we were blessed to gain another lovely teammate, Julie Morsfield 🙂
After many nights of throwing around various names…including some great options including unicorns and other mystical creatures…we settled on the name “Radiant.” Some team members hold to the fact that our name is actually “Radiant Unicorns”, but thankfully the unicorn part is silent 🙂
I am super excited to walk into this new season alongside these 5 beautiful women. The Lord spoke to me in Romania about newness, freshness and change. I wasn’t sure what the change would look like, but I’m thankful that He is in control and I can’t wait to see the continued newness He walks each of us into. I learn something new from these girls each day and they push me to look more Christ.
Let me tell you a little about our new teammate Julie…
She is beautiful, blonde and honestly radiant in every sense of the word. She has a gentle but vibrant spirit and has already brought so much life and love to our team. She laughs easily, asks good, deep questions, sings and does funny voices, has a beautiful servant’s heart and a spunk that just makes you smile 🙂 She is a gift to our team and I am so super thankful for her.

So why “Radiant”, you ask? There were many verses that led us to our name and spoke to each of us. Let me share a few:
“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
“Lift up your eyes and look about you:
All assemble and come to you;
your sons come from afar,
and your daughters are carried on the hip.
Then you will look and be radiant,
your heart will throb and swell with joy;
the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
to you the riches of the nations will come.”
Isaiah 60:1-5
“When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.”
Exodus 34:29
This month we are doing ministry in a small village of about 300 people in a city called Kolensti (about an hour North of the nation's capital, Kiev). We are serving with a ministry called Jeremiah's Hope…you can learn more about the ministry at JeremiahsHope.org.
We are loving it in Ukraine so far…the weather is nice, the campground we live and serve at is beautiful and we are learning to love and grow together in new ways.
Next blog I will post more about what we are doing here in Kolensti, but until then you can check out the ministry website! 🙂
“Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”
