So on the WR we play a game called the thankful game. Whenever we are in a less than ideal situation (being away from family and friends on Thanksgiving, in a country where you apparently can't get turkey because they are pets not food could be an example of an appropriate time to play). So basically you just list things you are thankful for and before you know it your spirits are lifted! So let's play! (and I'll give 11 because the whole 11 months, 11 countries thing and Thanksgiving is in the 11th month of the year. 11 may be my new favorite number….)
11 Reasons I'm Thankful to be on the Race:
- Community! Being with 6 other people ALL.THE.TIME. is awesome and tough (mostly awesome though)!
- Meeting incredible people from across the world!
- The ability to say, "Oh yeah this one time in (insert awesome country here)…"
- Learning to hear God's voice more clearly!
- Impromptu worship sessions and dance parties in the randomest places!
- Learning how to cook in limited kitchens with limited resources–we've gotten creative!
- Learning more about God's character!
- Getting the opportunity to speak life into people and having life spoken into me!
- Learning words in different languages (mentirosa and gënjeshtar means liar in Spanish and Albanian while te iubesc and te dua mean I love you in Romanian and Albanian)
- Learning to be free in my worship and prayer (at debrief I danced…a little…and it was so good!)
- Seeing that I am beautiful!

Last year on Thanksgiving morning I waseating a cinnamon roll and putting the turkey in the over. This year, I'm eating a donut with Tupac. I love the World Race.
