So I’ve been out of Swaziland for about 2 weeks now which means it’s the perfect time for Never Have I Ever!
- Taught 4thgrade Math
- Taught 4thgrade English
- Taught in a school where the majority of children come from HIV/AIDS families
- Lived on top of a mountain (literally on top!)
- Had internet for a total of 25 minutes, THE ENTIRE MONTH!
- Threw up on the side of the road at 3am, 3:30am and 4am.
- Dug a HUGE hole for a septic tank
- Had a fellow teacher wear a shirt advertising beer to school
- Been abandoned by a bus driver because he didn’t have a passport so he couldn’t get into the country. He just ran away from passport control and left us with the bus. Weird. Luckily another driver came and saved us.
- Had a student answer the spelling section of an English test in Afrikaans (they speak SiSwati in Swaziland…)
- Eaten chicken liver and heart (not bad, not awesome)
- Seen so many stars light up the night sky!
- Seen a 4thgrade class with kids between the ages of 8 and 14!!
- Taught preschoolers (toughest ministry yet! They have crazy energy!)
- Felt such all encompassing peace sitting on a rock, looking out over God’s creation.
- Been in the middle of a thunderstorm. Literally it was all around us because we were so high up!
