So last month I had ZERO internet. But I had some crazy experiences! I’m sorry you’re getting Swazi updates after the month but I hope you enjoy them anyway!
First the background info:
Swaziland is absolutely beautiful! We (my team and 2 other teams for a total of 20 people) are living at a children’s home called El Shaddai that is literally at the top of a mountain! The drive up was terrible, especially considering we had been driving for 24 hours, it was 3am, our bus got stuck in the mud forever and ended with me vomiting on the side of the road. Not a win. Easily worst travel day yet. In Mozambique I told my team I didn't feel like we were getting the "African" experience. I regret that statement.

Enoying a leisurely afternoon at the top of our mountain!
There are a ton of ministry opportunities ranging from working in education settings to construction to medical to hanging out with babies! Our contact found out I taught at a college so I was assigned to teach at the elementary school. The first week I spent the entire time grading math homework for the 4th grade (lucky thing since I’m pretty sure my max math knowledge is 5th grade!). The rest of the time I taught 4th grade English.
In the afternoons we lead tutoring sessions where I sit with my 4th graders and help them with their homework. I spent an obnoxious amount of time trying to teach them sequencing and ordering numbers—again that’s basically the highest level of math I can do!

The students all lined up for morning assembly. Their school lunch (maizemeal and beans) are cooked over a fire so each child has to bring a piece of wood to school every.day.
In the evenings we sit on this giant rock and watch the stars. Every night I lay down absolutely exhausted but excited for a new day!
So that's kind of a basic overview! But don't worry more blogs are coming soon!

Cute picture just because! This is one of the preschoolers
