So as I mentioned in my last blog the living conditions are less than ideal. I fear dying a slow and painful death by heatstroke, I cringe at the thought of going to the bathroom and I literally have not been in a room by myself yet this month. Yet I love this month. No I adore this month! I figured by month 10 I would be exhausted and would have to fight to convince myself to participate in ministry. And yes I am exhausted beyond words but I look forward to every single day here. There are 3 reasons why Cambodia has stolen my heart:
Healings:
So this month our ministry is basically going into different villages every day and visiting with people and sharing the gospel with them and asking if they need prayer for anything. Cambodians are raised to believe in the spiritual realm. There are animal spirits, ancestor spirits, all kinds of spirits! Which means when we share with them about the power of the Holy Spirit they believe and trust easily. So our very first day out we met a woman who couldn’t move her hands because of intense pain and so we prayed for her and she was healed! I have never seen a healing before! And that was just our first day out. Day after day we saw God heal people in awesome ways. It was incredible!
Salvation:
Another fun fact about Cambodians, they love to share stories! We asked our tuk tuk driver how his New Year was and we got a 45 minute answer where we learned his entire life/family history. So when we go into the villages and ask how people are, they are incredibly honest and really share what is weighing on their heart. Because of that we are able to talk specifically of how God can absolutely change their life! And we had 2 people accept Christ this month! It was awesome!
Joy:
This month was hard. I was sick for a while, it was hot and miserable. I thought I would cry every day. Yet every single moment I was with a Cambodian I felt joy. The believers here just exude joy. Whenever I was in their presence I felt so much happiness in my heart. I just wanted to sit with them forever!
So that’s a quick overview of my month! I can’t believe month 10 is over and I’m on my way to my FINAL country!
