Dirty children, naked babies, young girls weaving grass mats
children walking with yellow jugs on their heads to fill up at the nearest water hole
men riding bikes with sacks full of freshly picked cotton from the field
young children carrying their even younger siblings on their backs
kids running with the biggest brightest smiles and waving to greet me as I go by yelling Mazungu!
dusty pot hole roads full of cows and goats
mud huts with women and their children hanging out under a shady tree
women breaking off dried kernels from a corn cob to prepare the maize for ugali
chickens crowing and running in and out of their mud huts
children with bright colored dirty dresses or a shirt as their only clothing roll bicycle tires with a stick for fun
women squatting in front of a charcoal fire in their outdoor kitchen as smells of beans or cooked goat fills the air
the smell of burnt dirt
This is what I see everyday in Uganda.
