Welcome to my World Race Blog!
 
First, I want to say THANK YOU! to my family, my family of friends, my supporters and anyone else that might be visiting this blog. Thank you for supporting my ministry!  This is the place where I will be sharing my experiences with you as I prepare for and while I’m on the World Race!  I’ll be updating this blog frequently with online journal entries, stories, pictures and hopefully videos.

Why am I going on the World Race?

This last year has been a tremendous time of spiritual growth for me as I have sought and waited on God to understand his direction for my life. Ive struggled with the whole ‘what is Gods will for my life’ question for so long.  And in my quest to know His will, plan and purpose for ‘me,’ I’ve instead come to know ‘Him’ better. He has drawn me into a deeper place with Him in prayer (thank you prayer accountability partner!), worship, trusting Him, and a greater understanding of the Truth of His Word and the freedom it brings, and how God wants to raise us up to be the Church He intended for us to be in the world.

During my time of waiting on God, yet pursuing Him, certain words and topics have resurfaced so many times that they became my focus of study and prayer. Ministers of reconciliation; greater faith; beauty for ashes; freedom from bondage; communion with Him and others, waiting on Him; casting down idols, reckless abandon, encouraging the poor and oppressed; having resolve like Daniel, believing, loving and trusting God like Abraham, these have been the constant themes over the last couple of years.  Little did I know that He was preparing me all the while for what was next.

THE WORLD RACE
God has now opened a door for me to join Adventures in Missions (AIM) to participate on The World Race beginning in October 08! Think ‘Amazing Race’ and add, sharing the love of Christ along the way!   You may be asking, ‘What do you mean exactly by world race’? Let me tell you! Its an opportunity to go to 11 countries over the course of 11 months and live out Matthew 10. Its an opportunity to serve with local church and AIM partnerships in church mobilization, disaster relief recovery, evangelism, feeding the hungry, rescuing orphans, and bringing justice to the sex trade.  Its an opportunity to get closer to the heart of God and follow His lead. Its an opportunity to trust Him like never before. Its an opportunity to grow in the authority that Christ wants us to live in daily. Its also an opportunity to live simply and serve in close community as the first church did in Acts.  Needless to say, this pilgrimage with God will be one of adventure!

PARTNER WITH ME
I thank God for this opportunity that is before me and I trust that He will meet my needs.  Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do that through you.  I would be honored to have your prayer support and financial support by partnering with me in this ministry. I must raise $13,800 in donations and pledges by October 08. Donations go directly to AIM and will cover my expenses while on the field.  On a monthly basis, if only 10 people pledge $25/month; 8 pledge $50/month; 3 pledge $100/month; and 2 pledge $150/month, I would meet my goal!

I know that this next year of my life will be radically different in EVERY possible way. It will be exciting and yet full of many challenges, but Im eager to take this journey with the Lord.  Knowing that you will be there by my side in spirit gives me the boldness to step out in faith.  I cherish your love and friendship so much and I look forward to keeping you updated on the progress of the Race.
