I’ve been on the road now for literally over 100 days as Wednesday, Jan 7th, marked my 100th day on the World Race and I couldn’t be more stoked than to rock it in Uganda. I just thought I’d sum up a few things for you to commemorate the past 100 days.

  • I’ve spent hours and days traveling by plane, train, bus, van, jeepne, tryche, MTR subway, taxi, ferry, car, walked and matotu that has stretched over 4 countries and 2 continents, through big cities and over pot whole dirt roads full of cows, goats, chickens and donkeys.
  • I’ve slept in 14 different beds
  • I’ve learned how to say Hello! in 4 languages: Como-estoca! (Phi), Ni-hao! (China), Jambo! (Kenya), Kedayo! (Uganda)
  • I’ve eaten some fun foods like balls of squid in the Philippines, got my mouth burned out with some of the spiciest food ever in China, packing on some weight with good ‘ol ugali and kale in Kenya, and enjoyed goat in Uganda.
  • I’ve lived out of a backpack with the bare essentials, my Bible, a few books, laptop and ipod.
  • I’m used to ants crawl all over me.
  • I have a Chinese name (Jien Mei) AND a Kenyan name Melissa Keysoka
  • I’m used to being dirty, using squatty potties and outdoor bucket baths.
  • I think I could write a book on my experiences… and its only been 3 months.
  • And I’ve seen God in the most amazing ways and through some pretty cool people around the world.

I can’t wait for the other 200+ days left of this journey with my Savior.
