This is the one where you get to know all the fun facts about me! The first thing I will tell you is that I love a good list. When you ask me to go to the grocery store to pick up more than three things, please provide a list. It's just functional, ya know? So ladies and gentlemen, I give you the list of things you may have known, maybe wished you didn't know, maybe shocked to know, maybe forced to know, about me.
1. I have a tendency to get overwhelmed. Anxiety can get the best of me sometimes, like when I think about things I have to do and I don't list them down and they're just floating around in my brain. What if one gets lost?!
2. From ages 7-19 I only wanted to live in the city. I just wanted to go shopping for totes and clutches and handbags and eat petite cupcakes for lunch with my bestest girlfriend. I won't tell you where I want to live now.
3. I have some kind of arthritis. I was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at the tender age of eight months, but in a shocking discovery it turns out that I might have psoriatic arthritis. Ahh, the makings of a good suspense thriller.
4. I come from a huge Mennonite family. Both sides. Hallelujah.
5. I live in the countryside surrounding a small town of 8 000 good folks and there is a field across the road from my house that is home to some lovely cows. My dad grew up on a cow farm. I've never milked a cow.
6. Oh sweet baby, I love to dance.
7. My favourite cereal is Shreddies. I just dig the wheatiness so much. And when I eat my cereal (or pasta, etc.) I like to eat it from a deep bowl. It's comforting that way.
8. The olive tree is my favourite kind of tree. So gnarly and rugged but so beautiful in its own way and so giving of life! Olive oil! I painted an olive tree on my wall in my bedroom. (No, no.. before you go thinking that I'm a painter I literally traced it. I will not be comissioned to paint anything for you! I will not!)
9. I really enjoy being short! The presence of tall people makes me feel safe and I like to feel small. This absolutely does not apply however at events like concerts.
10. I work in a kitchen with a bunch of boys. And a bunch of those boys are highschool boys. Sometimes as I'm putting on my uniform I ask myself "Why do you even work here?!" And I'm not really sure. Shouldn't I be out there with all of the server girls serving tables while the boys work in the kitchen like the rules that the rest of my co-workers seem to abide by?! But sometimes I love it more than I can tell you. It feels like home a little bit.
There you have it! A sweet little list!
