We were in Albania the month of June ministering at children’s camps! It’s been such a breath of fresh air for the educator inside of me to be teaching, playing, and laughing with children.
We’ve been teaching about faith out of Hebrews 11 by walking them through the “Faith Hall of Fame”. We taught them songs like “Pharaoh, Pharaoh”, played games like “Sharks and Minos” and dressed up like old ladies that tell Bible stories. After each Bible story, we had small groups to create space for discussion. During one of these small groups, there was one boy that stood out to me. He was so eager to answer all the questions and had really impressive things to say. It was clear that he not only was attentive to the story, but really learned from it. I asked one of our ministry hosts about him. What she said blew me away…
“He is actually the son of the first woman that we lead to Christ when we started this ministry. Her family was Muslim by tradition and she became the first Christian in her family. It’s not everyday that you get to see the fruits of your labor.”
Those words ROCKED me! I was literally sitting right in front of the embodiment of Psalm 112:1-2. And beyond that, I was working alongside the people who were used to lead them to Christ. The people that said “yes” to the calling over their lives.
Can you imagine if they had said “no”? Imagine if they had ran from the Lord and lived in disobedience? If they selfishly lived in their own comfort and didn’t press into the Lord’s will for their lives? A life that would soon impact and lead generations to the feet of Jesus.
I’m realizing the potential that our obedience has of impacting and transforming. Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples. I believe that God is teaching me that is goes beyond just one person. Our obedience to do His will is to impact generations!
This made me realize the generational blessings over my family. I’m grateful that on both sides I’ve had grandparents that have dedicated their lives to the Lord. Their yes impacted their generations. I’m the third generation to be following Jesus and now have the privilege and honor to go around the world to tell of His good news.
Will I be able to see the first, second, third generations of my works for God’s Kingdom? Maybe, maybe not. But that’s why it’s such a great thing that this isn’t ONE person’s job. It’s the responsibility of the body of Christ to go out and make disciples.
Disciples that make disciples that make disciples.
It’s a ripple effect. All we need to do is say “yes” and get the ripples going. Do not let fear or doubt stop you from believing that you are chosen to impact generations. In the wise words of Grandmother Willow in Pocahontas when talking about ripples, “So small at first, then look how they grow. But someone has to start them.”
Will you start them? Will you believe the calling that God has over your life? You were created to be an atmosphere changer. You have the ability to change a life because of the resurrecting power of Christ in you! Together we can make disciples that will follow Jesus and delight in His truth. Our “yes” will impact generations to come; a mighty and upright generation that is crazy about Jesus and His Kingdom!

En el mes de Junio estuvimos en Albania ministrando en campamentos infantiles! Ha sido un soplo de aire fresco para el educador dentro de mí, enseñar, jugar, y reír con los niños.
Nosotros hemos estado enseñando acerca de la fe de Hebreos 11 como caminar a través de la “Fe salón de la fama”. Les enseñamos canciones como “Faraón, el faraón”, jugamos juegos como “Los tiburones y Minos” y nos vestimos como ancianas para contar historias de la Biblia. Después de cada historia de la Biblia, formamos pequeños grupos para discutir acerca del tema. Durante uno de estos pequeños grupos, se encuentra un chico que se destacó entre todos. Él estaba tan ansioso por responder a todas las preguntas y tenía cosas realmente impresionantes que decir. Estaba claro que él no sólo estaba atento a la historia, pero en realidad aprendió de la misma. Pregunté a uno de nuestros anfitriones del ministerio acerca de él, y lo que dijo me dejó …
“Él es en realidad el hijo de la primera mujer que llevamos a Cristo cuando empezamos este ministerio. Su familia era musulmana por tradición y se convirtió en la primera cristiana en su familia. No todos los días se llega a ver los frutos de su trabajo “.
Esas palabras me dejaron impactada! Yo estaba literalmente viendo ante mis ojos la realización del Salmo 112: 1-2. Y más allá de eso, yo estaba trabajando junto a las personas que fueron utilizadas para conducirlos a Cristo. Las personas que dijeron “sí” al llamado de sus vidas.
¿Se imaginan si hubieran dicho “no”? Imagínese si hubieran salido corriendo de su llamado en desobediencia? Si ellos egoístamente vivieran su propia comodidad y no insistieran en la voluntad del Señor para su vida? Una vida que pudo impactar y llevar a generaciones los pies de Jesús.
Me estoy dando cuenta del potencial que tiene nuestra obediencia, el impacto para transformar. Jesús nos mandó a ir y hacer discípulos. Creo que Dios me está enseñando que eso va más allá de una sola persona. Nuestra obediencia es hacer su voluntad e impactar generaciones!
Esto hizo que me diera cuenta de las bendiciones generacionales sobre mi familia. Estoy agradecido de que en ambos lados que he tenido abuelos que han dedicado sus vidas al Señor. Su sí impactó sus generaciones. Soy la tercera generación que sigue a Jesús y ahora tienen el privilegio y el honor de dar la vuelta al mundo para llevar las buenas nuevas de salvación.
¿Voy a ser capaz de ver la primera, segunda, tercera generación, de mis obras para el Reino de Dios? Tal vez si, tal vez no, lo cierto es que este no es el trabajo de una sola persona. Es la responsabilidad del cuerpo de Cristo para salir y hacer discípulos.
Discípulos que hacen discípulos, que hacen discípulos.
Es un efecto dominó. Todo lo que tenemos que hacer es decir “sí” y las piezas comenzarán a caer. No dejar que el miedo o la duda le impida creer que usted es elegido para impactar generaciones. En las sabias palabras de la abuela de Pocahontas cuando se habla de árboles grandes, son pequeños al principio, y luego crecen exageradamente. Pero alguien tuvo que empezar a sembrar “.
Va a empezar a sembrar? ¿Va a creer acerca del llamado que Dios tiene sobre su vida? Usted fue creado para ser un cambiador de atmósfera. Usted tiene la capacidad de cambiar una vida a causa del poder de la resurrección de Cristo! Juntos podemos hacer discípulos que seguirán a Jesús y se deleitarán en su verdad. Nuestro “sí” tendrá un impacto en las generaciones por venir; una generación poderosa y recta que está apasionada por Jesús y su Reino!
