“You are my beloved child, I will never forsake you.

Our time in Kapenguria, Kenya has officially begun.
Today was considered our rest day… to adjust to being here and plan for what lies ahead.
It’s funny… God’s perception of rest..

This morning, Lacee and I decided it would be fun to just walk around the compound… take a few pictures…see the sights… all that good stuff. Little did we know what we were walking into…

After about two minutes of walking, six African kids greeted us. Soon, the six kids turned into twenty…and the small group of twenty turned into roughly fifty.

Life away from home has been hard on our team. Each of us is dealing with the various home situations in different ways. The group of African children that God sent our way today, deeply touched each of our lives at our crucial time of need. That’s God for you…

I have been struggling to continually recognize that I am a beloved child of God, and regardless of any situation, He will never forsake me. Today, God sent these kids as a simple reminder. Not just a reminder that I am His beloved child, but that they are as well. All they desire is love… all we desire as humans… is love. We search for it in so many ways… but when it comes down to it…all we want is to be loved.

Tonight I was loved. The process of being WRECKED with LOVE has begun for our entire team. During “pooh time, God began to pick away at hearts and began to wreck them. We are no longer just individuals…we have become a family, one, dealing with life together.

God opened my eyes and helped me realized that I am not in this alone. My team was hand picked by God. Each individual on my team is right where God desires us to be at this moment in our lives. But most importantly, God’s simple whisper today, through these children in the village has been:
