A little over a week ago my friend, Jean, dropped me off somewhere in the woods of Georgia, like a proud mom sending me to summer camp. She left me in a place that I realized quickly would change me forever. I was emerged into a culture of love and openness. I was quickly encouraged to tell my story, be creative and above all honor people. It is hilarious how quickly 44 people can go from a group of apprehensive strangers to supportive, loving family and team…. FYI with the right training it apparently takes 8 days. I’m now a family member of E squad, 2nd Generation and Team Rafa Warriors (Rafa=healer).
Random Facts from the week:
-I ate fish soup… yes I ate whole sardines eyes and everything then got a scale stuck to my tongue
-I’ve slept in so many different places and scenarios, my favorite is with my team… body heat is not to be underestimated in 30 degree weather.
-I learned how to play the Ninja game and the thankful game.
Overall, I’ve living in community is amazing, yet very challenging. My thought about God and what He is capable of doing and moving has not only been exponentially expanded, but it has also changed. I have truly been challenged, changed and grown as a woman. So thankful God is good, He loves us- ALL of us (you too), He has a sense a humor and it’s amazing when you put the focus all on Him the things that you can learn, do and create.
