hey!!
this blog is just some simple life updates:)
i’m in thailand!! my squad and i arrived in chiang mai, thailand on march 6 after a pretty long travel day and a pretty cool layover in hong kong!

right now, all the girls are staying in a hostel right in the city and the boys are about two hours north living on a farm

my team and team salt and light have been doing ministry together for the past few weeks and it’s been so awesome! we spent the first two weeks doing some manual labor at a school which will hopefully open within the new few years and be one of the very few international christian schools in thailand! we’re really grateful to be able to help our with this project. we’ve done a lot of sanding and a lot of painting and we are getting some good arm muscles haha! also we’ve gotten into this nice routine where everyone i mean everyone listens to podcasts while they paint and it is so evident that the lord is really speaking to us through the opportunity we have to serve and also be filled up at the same time!
there have been a few days when ministry has been canceled because of the smog & unhealthily air, but we’ve been able to use that time to just pray for this city and encourage each other during this transition in a new country & culture. this week we have moved over to the church side of the ministry and we are spending the week planning, preparing, and helping out with a big conference that will be held at the end of the week!! every day we take a “songthaew” to and from ministry which is basically just a red pick up truck with benches and a roof over the back…it’s really fun to ride in them!

thailand is really treating us well when it comes to food… we have a market right across the street and around the corner where we can get some GOOD pad thai & dumplings!
•
the Lord is doing so much in my life right now. he is teaching me how to be patient & wait. he is teaching me that if i want to hear his voice i have to actually be quiet & listen. he is teaching me that temptation is real and that i shouldn’t be discouraged when the enemy attacks but that i should be grateful because it’s just another opportunity for me to rely on the Lord!

prayer requests from me & my squad:
- that we can stay focused and present in ministry and with the squad
- peace about the future and the lords plans for our lives post-race
- hope for healing and restoration in relationships on the race & back home
- the wisdom and guidance to be able to share the gospel in a culture that is not based on christ
- knowing our purpose and what the lord wants us to do here in thailand!
