Hey hey!! We made it to Costa Rica! WOW it is so so beautiful here. The past few days have been a lot of adjustments and giving it up to God, but we are so excited to be here! Here’s a little recap of all thats been happening 🙂

Travel day: what’s a better way to start off the race than with an all nighter? We left our hotel in Atlanta at about 2:30am to headed straight to the airport!! After stopping in Florida for a layover, we finally arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica at about 11:30am. From there we hopped on a bus and went to our home for the next 3 months!

Our home: wow! The Lord seriously blessed us with his beautiful home. We are staying at an AIM base in Curridabat. There are 53 of us total living in the house. Each team (8 or 9 racers) gets their own room with bunk beds. My team’s room is so cozy. We are a bit secluded in the back of the house with a cute little porch. AND we have a lovely little window that connects to the boy’s bathroom…needless to say our room always smells good (sarcasm). However, we have clean running water & hot showers (sometimes) which is such a blessing. We also have an awesome backyard with an incredible view of the mountains! On Friday, my team had our first day of ministry & it was so much fun!!

Our ministry: I cannot wait to see how The Lord works through us in this ministry. The first half of our ministry is a Christian school for children ages 4-17. There we get to help out in the classrooms teaching English (yay!), and help clean the rooms at the end of everyday. Since this weekend is their Independence day, we got to participate in a parade with the kids around the city!!The second half of our ministry is working in the slums at the “Life Center.” We haven’t been there yet so I don’t know much about it, but I know The Lord has big plans for us there!!

This weekend we have had lots of time to explore our neighborhood where we found lots of cool local & familiar stores… there’s a Walmart AND a starbucks!! We’ve also had lots of time to just sit with The Lord and talk to Him about what he is getting ready for us to do in this country. I seriously can’t wait to see Him move through us and let Costa Rica know who He is!! Please continue to pray for my squad and I for perseverance and strength as we get into this incredible journey! Also please feel free to reach out to me with prayer requests or updates or stories or anything you want to tell me on my email [email protected]
