Today was our first day of work at the coffee shop. We started out the day by cleaning the place to get it ready for business. After orientation with our super cool contact, Emmi, the girls and I went across the street to the University. We passed out flyers to the students and sat down to eat lunch with them. After some much needed down time, we ate dinner at the market and passed out some more flyers. During our walk through the market…SURPRISE!…a baby elephant came walking by. Kelsie, Haley, and I got to feed it. Jesus, you are so cool!!! Thank you for blessing us the way you do : ) After working from 10am-8:00pm at the coffee shop, we went to the Red Light District to pray and ask God for guidance. Our translator had already been building a relationship with some of the women, so he stopped to talk to a few of them. The first group were actually ladyboys, and my heart just melted for them. I’m so eager to learn more about them. The last bar that we stopped in, was the same bar that tugged on my heart last night as we walked by. Within 2 seconds, I met a beautiful woman who was my same age. We instantly had a connection, and when I told her I was staying in Chiang Mai for 3 weeks, she said “We can be friends.” Ugh…my heart just leaped with joy. I feel so honored and blessed to be a part of this. Jesus…You have the biggest, best, most beautiful heart. Thank you for sharing your heart with me, so I can love these people the way you do.
