internet access, so I have not been able to post any blogs since Ghana. Just to
give you an update, I am currently in Ajuwon, Nigeria. Nigeria is composed of
states, so we are located in Ogun state. After our last debrief, this is where
all of the teams get together and talk about what they have learned in the last
two months, we got some shocking news. All of the teams were getting switched
around and all of the team leaders were changing! Then to bring an even more
shock to my system, I was now becoming one of the new team leaders. The amusing
part of it is, I was conversing with God one day during my morning coffee date
with Him, and he told me I would be dying a few more deaths to self before this
race was over. As soon as I heard the news, I knew this would be the cause of
my deaths. The day after I found out teams would be changing, arrangements were
made and off we went with our new teams. My new team members are (in
alphabetical order by first names) Alana Serna, DJ Kelley, Jessica Johnson,
Michael Parise, and Rebekah Neal. Our
new team name is Roaring Concord. Our amazing squad leader Weston or Wesley, as
the Nigerians like to call him, is also doing ministry with us this month. We
found a dictionary in our residence, so he decided we should choose a new word
to focus on each day. DJ found the word “concord” which means a pleasing
combination of sounds: a pleasing sound made when two or more notes are played
together. Alana added the “roaring” to it, because it has been spoken over many
people in our team that spiritually we are lions (bold and courageous). I
praise God for the way He has orchestrated this team. We have been challenging
each other in such positive ways, and we have been learning so much. Every
person in this team has such a unique gift to offer, but when we get together
it is so evident that truth is the banner we carry. Since we have arrived at
our ministry, truth seems to be our most important weapon of warfare. That is a
whole new blog in itself, so stay tuned. God-willing I will be able to post
another blog shortly.
