I have been in Tampa (my hometown) for over 2 weeks now. It’s so surreal to be back! I haven’t been here since I left for my original race in 2009. It’s almost like time stood still…like I never left…yet people are older and they have children now.
Some very interesting things have happened to me lately…
1. I have had some of the best moments with God.
For a while, it felt like I couldn’t feel Him near me at all, so I just had to keep trusting that He was there.
But in these past weeks, my time with Him has been so incredibly sweet. For example, I pray to Him, and I am so aware of His ear leaning down towards me, intently listening to everything I have to say 🙂
2. I watched the video below on youtube, I prayed at the end of it, and my left knee (which has been hurting since 8th grade) was instantly healed!!
3. God has blessed me left and right with people who love me. They have loved me through all the years of my transformation, from who i was before the race to after.
4. God has blessed me with kind people who generously donated, so I can see my squad in Kenya at the end of this month.
5. It sometimes hurts when God closes a door, especially when you really want something. However, He answered my prayer…I know He is protecting me and He is looking out for my best interest. So although it feels unpleasant…I rejoice.
I still don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know that my life in the hands of a perfect God, and so I rest easy tonight.
