Well…we made it to India! Who knew that it would take 55
hours of travel
to get here? I certainly wasn’t expecting it to
to be that brutal….but rule #1 on the world race….let
go of your expectations.

After our travel “day“…I
wasn’t in the best mood.
I was so tired that I felt ill, and my
poor little feet were so fat and swollen. We all had such a bad case
of kankles that it has taken days for them to go back to
normal.

The first thing that catches me
off guard, when I get to a new, third-world country is the lack of
comforts and privileges that we have back in the States. After
traveling for 3 years, you’d think that I would be used to it by
now.: Eating pb&j’s for most of my meals, taking bucket
showers, using squattie-potties, and eating local food and just
hoping and praying you won’t have to run to the bathroom in 5
minutes.

It took me some time to get over
myself.
Once I spent some quality time with the Lord, He
reassured me that I am exactly where I need to be and that all is
well.
He really is such a good God, what on earth is there for me
to complain about? So I have made the choice to start my days off
with thanksgiving.

Once I started this, I found that there
is soooooooo much to be thankful for!!
I love the fact that I am
in India, a place I have always wanted to go. I get to be with this
incredible squad and watch them grow before the Lord. We were
completely safe, taking all types of travel, for 55 hours. We have never gone hungry, and we have a comfortable place to rest our heads. Cold,
bucket showers feel absolutely glorious after a long day of being
sticky and sweaty. And the list goes on and on.

What an awesome God that we serve!
You know what? God told me back when I was 17 that I would go to
Africa and India and He has been so perfectly faithful to
fulfill His promise for my life.
Trust Him because He is
good, and give Him thanks…He is so worthy!
