W H A T    A    Y E A R ! ! !

Seriously. In honor of the end of the year, I thought I’d write a 2017 highlight blog to remember all the GREAT memories. When the dog bites, when the bee stings, these will still be some of my favorite things!

  1. Went to Passion 2017!
  2. Had an amazing worship night on Good Friday
  3. Graduated from my Dietetic Internship in May
  4. Went to Training Camp and met my amazing squad
  5. PASSED my RDN exam!
  6. Made memories with friends in July
  7. Went jet skiing and paddle-boarding with Kristyn in Hot Springs
  8. Had two friends live with me over the summer
  9. LAUNCHED in August!
  10. Went to France, Spain, Morocco, Cyprus (with a layover in the UK), and Jordan so far!
  11. Worked with refugees in Paris from all around the world
  12. Helped move the refugees to a new facility
  13. Slept in a refugee camp
  14. Shared the love of Jesus with people from Afghanistan and Sudan
  15. Saw the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, the outside of the Louvre, and Sacred Heart
  16. Ate authentic French crepes
  17. Saw the Eiffel Tower light up at night
  18. Took a trip to the cliffs in northern France
  19. Hey Nathan, remember that time we almost got hit by a bus? 😀
  20. Went to Omaha Beach and saw where D-Day happened
  21. Went to Hillsong Paris
  22. Biked around Paris with Lila and Lauren
  23. Ate too many French baguettes
  24. Walked one day on the Camino without pain
  25. Stayed in hostels…with bed bugs
  26. Walked through the Pyrenees Mountains
  27. Strained a ligament in my foot…
  28. Got a free ride from a nun when I couldn’t walk anymore
  29. Got piggyback rides from my teammates across Pamplona
  30. Slept on the streets in Leon behind a train station
  31. Hobbled around Spain on crutches
  32. Shared the gospel with a girl at a hostel in Fisterra
  33. Spent a week at the end of the world
  34. Swam in the Mediterranean Sea
  35. Took a ferry across the Straight of Gibraltar to Morocco
  36. Got food poisoning (& lived in a house with 1 bathroom and 7 people with diarrhea)
  37. Went to the hamam
  38. Went to the doctor and did physical therapy
  39. Rode camels and stargazed in the Sahara Desert
  40. Went sand-boarding down the dunes
  41. Danced with Berber nomads
  42. Got sick while having lunch at someone’s home
  43. Ate LOTS of couscous
  44. Drank lots of mint tea!
  45. A new friend had a dream from God
  46. Visited the second cleanest city in the world
  47. Had a girls retreat in the Atlas mountains of Morocco
  48. Dressed up as a ballerina for Halloween
  49. Had a layover in London on the way to Cyprus
  50. Landed in Cyprus with no host, no housing, and no where to go
  51. Prayed and saw God come through in multiple ways
  52. Lived in a mansion for free in Cyprus! And the house came with a free car
  53. Saw Aphrodite’s Rock
  54. Worshipped at the sea caves
  55. Got 4 free meals in one day
  56. Went to a seminar about helping victims of trauma
  57. Celebrated Thanksgiving with 20 new friends from 9 different countries
  58. Taught a nutrition class at Logos School
  59. Wrote a newsletter for our host’s ministry in Cyprus
  60. Expanded my cooking horizons
  61. Picked an olive tree
  62. Made SO many good friends around the world (like Natalia!)
  63. Planned a debrief
  64. Rearranged debrief plans the day of
  65. Worshipped in French, Arabic, and Greek
  66. Floated in the Dead Sea
  67. Saw Mt. Nebo
  68. Stood where Moses would have stood as he looked out over the Promise Land
  69. Saw the remnants of the palace where John the Baptist was beheaded.
  70. Saw God move in amazing ways through doing logistics
  71. Made lifetime best friends with people on my squad
  72. Realized that the Holy Spirit does speak to me
  73. Went to the border town in Jordan for Iraq and Saudi Arabia
  74. Went to a Turkish bath—an hour and a half spa with a massage!
  75. Saw the place where Jacob fought with the angel
  76. Explored Petra
  77. Sat on a ledge about the Temple Treasury
  78. Saw persecution against the church firsthand
  79. Participated in a 24-hour prayer vigil
  80. Celebrated Christmas in Jordan!
  81. Went to the Amman Boulevard to see Christmas lights
  82. Roasted marshmallows in front of the heater and made smores
  83. Participated in house churches
  84. Taught Sunday school and ESL on the spot
  85. Wore socks and chacos together more times than I’d care to admit
  86. Explored a Byzantine castle
  87. Saw ruins from Hercules temple and a Roman amphitheater
  88. Took my first uber
  89. Drank coffee…and hated it
  90. Got carsick more times than I can count
  91. Made a prayer room in our house in Jordan
  92. Saw the Israeli border
  93. Worked with the best logistics partner ever!
  94. Pulled too many all-nighters
  95. Started a bullet journal
  96. Ate lots of chocolate
  97. Attempted to learn Arabic (I can count to ten!)
  98. Got words from the Lord for people
  99. Found cheap housing in Israel
  100. Slept in 34 different beds so far
  101. Watched my faith grow tremendously
