The ugly truth is that I don’t make it through whole days without tears.
The ugly truth is that my sleep each night is broken with dreams that wake me shook, scared, and disoriented.
The ugly truth is that I am already missing the people that have started their new seasons of life and have left home, yet I am still here at home.
The ugly truth is this hurts.
The ugly truth comes in the suspense, in the changes, in the nights lying awake wondering what is to come, and in allowing fears of the unknown to overtake the joy that comes in following God’s will.
But-
just as God creates beauty from ashes he will use the ugly truths to reveal and declare His holy and just truths over my life and yours.
His holy truth is that He, “is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18
His holy truth is that, “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” And I will find my rest in Him.
Philippians 4:7
His holy truth is my soul finds strength and hope in Christ. “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.”
Psalm 42:11
Romans 8:28-31 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
2 Corinthians 12:9,10 “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
