It has been a while everyone! To update you I have been in Ethiopia for a month and a half almost now. I love Ethiopia. I’ve been learning a lot about simplicity. I have been learning how to love the kids well and get loved by them. I have been learning what is my thing. In my time in Guatemala I tried to learn how I connected best with the Lord by trying everyone else’s thing but it was never mine. I have been learning that I love to journal to the Lord and write to him like he is my friend. I love the kitchen women and that they hug me and will make my favorite sauce for meals. I have no service here and not being able to connect with the world has been one of the very best times. I don’t focus on everyone else. I don’t get distracted by what college is going to look like. I am able to go strictly to the Lord and my squad for support. I get to read all the time. I’ve gotten to get so close to my squad. My ministry looks like teaching the kids in the morning and in the afternoon getting to do reforestation. We get to go to the actual reforestation site and fill dirt and water the plants. We get to cut grass here on the base, or tend to the gardens. This time in Ethiopia has been really sweet because it is really all about the simplicity and living in the moment with no distractions.
