The “ENEMY”! For Christians that word brings about the thought of one thing and we all know who that is. The One who will try to drag you down, whisper thoughts in your mind, and use every strategy he knows how to pull you away from where God is trying to lead you. At this time, as I prepare for the “World Race” there are times when I can feel that happening. I can feel defeat in my efforts, a lack of trusting in the Lord because “the evil one” doesn’t want me to accomplish this!
However, Ephesians 6:11-12 says, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
I may feel that the enemy is there, but I can withstand of his evil work if I believe that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
I know that this will be a difficult process, with hard times, unproductive days and moments in which I think that there is no use in trying any longer. However, I also know that God is there with me in all of these moments and will be walking beside me (and my squad-mates) through every step of the way. It is through Him that I have come to this important season of my life and it is through Him that I will succeed as well.
As I am getting to know my squad-mates on Facebook through our conversations, videos and questions, i am comforted in knowing that I am not the only one who has days of uncertainty and times of feeling defeated. We are all going through this process and together, with God’s strength, we will come out as conquerors!
As I was listening to a Christian radio station (JoyFM) while in Fredericton, NB this past weekend, a pastor was speaking about conquering things that trouble us and he said a most heart-lifting thing, We are not just conquerors, we are much more, we are super conquerors. WOW.
Romans 8:37-39. Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Luke 4:18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
