This is a blog that I wrote in Lima, Peru where we had debrief. I hadn't posted it yet, but felt that now was the perfect time. Because I'm happy and this is a happy blog. About cats. Enjoy 🙂
When Emily and Estie first told me about the "cat park" that they found, I thought my heart was going to violently rip out of my chest and start doing backflips and/or meowing.
Basically, I was really excited!!!
The cat park is the most peculiar of places. It's strange if you think about it. There are tons of random cats that just live there.
They hang out under benches that people casually sit on, not bothered by the cats at all. There are cats in the shade of trees, crossing the walkways, relaxing in the flowers or sleeping in or up trees. (Yes, some cats are inside of the trees… Like rabbits… or something other than a cat would do). You have to see this place to believe it.
Each time that I went to the cat park this last week, I was filled with total joy! It was so small of a thing, but created such big happiness in my heart.
That's one thing about myself that I love that God made. I find extreme joy, happiness, love and beauty in the littlest things.
And when He gives those delights to me, I'm reminded of His love, which is my favorite thing of all. I'm going to continue to delight in the little things He gives me and be reminded of His great love.
Things like sour patch kids, rain, hugs that last just a few seconds longer than normal, sparkles, painting my nails, daisies, smiles from strangers, laughing so hard that you can't stop, eating ice cream out of the carton, finding the perfect song for how you feel, the number 11, surprise visits, purple and… Cats.
