Our last night in the states was a night of worship.
Coming before the Lord, pouring our hearts out and placing them before his feet
Coming before the Lord with thanksgiving, confession, fears, insecurites, excitment, doubts, etc.
I sang, I prayed, I sat and observed others in the room as they entered into the presence of the Lord.
My anxiety began to dissolve and I became stoked about the opportunity before me and getting to know the different individuals that make up my squad and realizing just how stupid blessed I am.
Toward the end of the service the men on my squad circled around all of the women and began praying over us.
& in that moment, I lost it.
I could not control myself, the tears burst from eyes and I sobbed.
They prayed for healing from our past relationships.
They asked for forgiveness on behalf of those guys from our pasts.
They built us up.
They encouraged us.
They gave us to the Lord.
Flashback to training camp:
On the second or third day the guys stood before us and apologized for the way we had been treated and that we as women of God deserved more. They stood before us wanting to serve us, and with us. They stood before us to tell us that they are ready to step into their responsibility and to be men of God; that they are ready to be leaders. They stood before us asking for us to trust them as brothers.
My past has its share of hurt, heartbreak, and emotional baggage. There are some things that I have worked through and then there is still junk I am wrestling with and working through with the Lord. & while it is not up to the men on my squad to fix my problems I do know that the Lord intentionally brought this group of men to teach me, to show me so that I may better understand how men of God are to act, serve, and live for him.
I am completely amazed by the men on my squad.
We have not even left the States and God has already been using these men in such great ways. I cannot imagine what the next 11 months has in store but I can tell you that I am STOKED to see how the Lord is going to use thses guys for His glory!
"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love."
