One of my squad mates told a story about her ministry last month. In Cote D’Ivoire the pastor wanted her team to sing worship songs every night. After a few weeks of nightly worship, they learned the witch doctors who lived next door were upset because they could not do anything when the team was worshiping.
The devil hates when I sing. I’ve believed for years I wasn’t good enough to lead or be involved with worship. Now I know he is just terrified because when we worship and praise the Lord, satan loses power.
The race has given me the opportunity to step out and lead worship and it’s been one of my absolute favorite forms of ministry. The days I lead worship have been the hardest on the race. They have been the days I’ve experienced the most discouragement and heartache. I believe the enemy comes against me because he knows the authority I have when I sing the name of Jesus. If there’s something the devil doesn’t want me doing, that’s exactly what I want to do.
Be encouraged knowing that your voice holds power. Your voice has the authority to silence evil. Your voice contains the capacity to speak life giving encouragement. Don’t ever stop singing. Don’t ever stop laughing. Don’t be silent because your voice is a gift and it is important.
My tongue is the strongest muscle in my body, and it’s yours as well.
Here is a clip from our worship night on Sunday. Happy month 6 of the race!
P.s. I’m hoping to make one of my next blogs a Q and A session. If you have any questions about the World Race (or literally anything), submit them in the comments section below or email [email protected] and I will try to answer them all!
