One awesome part of training camp is the team building process.  The World Race staff is challenged with the task of taking 80 or so people – with different personalities, giftings, experiences, etc – and place us on teams of 6 or 7…and do so in such a way that we will be effective and not kill each other during the 11 months!!  This is no small task!   But with the help of lots of prayer, personality tests, and stalker-like-observation, they placed me on Team Fuel!

Meet the rest of my team:

Geoffrey Shepard                             Emily Gearhart                            Hope Mendola

Michelle Johnson                          Marissa Villa                              Colin Langston

When thinking of ways to introduce my new family for a year, I came across this definition:

In biological terms, a community is a group of interacting organisms sharing an environment. In human communities, intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks, and a number of other conditions may be present and common, affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of cohesiveness.

Because of our intent to impact the Kingdom, belief that Jesus can change the world, living on a shoestring budget together, preferring life over our comfort, our need for each other, and the risks associated with backpacking to remote villages and big cities, we are now a community – Team Fuel is now part of my identity!

Our first mission as Team Fuel: Make a Memory!
Who wouldn’t go to a thrift store and buy matching Nascar shirts?!!

So, friends and family of mine, now you have met my new family.  I urge to you get to know them, subscribe to their blogs, support them financially, and pray for them as you pray for me.   Praise God for providing me with such an awesome new family and pray that we grow in Faith together, challenge each other and impact the Kingdom in unity.
