For those of you who did not experience the privilege of receiving my support letter, here it is for your reading enjoyment…….
Greetings! I hope this letter finds you well. I am excited to share with you about an opportunity that has come my way. The Lord has been speaking to me of my desire to be doing missions NOW rather than later because it is what He created me to do. I was accepted to go on The World Race, which is a ministry of Adventures in Missions. I will be in 11 countries over 11 months.
As most of you know, I love adventures and doing crazy, random things, but I must say that this one tops them all! In the last few years, my prayer has been that He would teach me His ways and show me His heart for the unwanted, the unloved, the lost and the forgotten. This trip will provide me with the opportunity to live as simply and beautifully as Jesus did, loving people and teaching them about Him.
I need your support for this trip. First and foremost, I would ask for your prayers. I am specifically asking for 15 people who will pray for me each day I am gone. Pray that I would live recklessly abandoned to His will each day. Please pray for my team, all the people that He will place before me throughout this journey, and pray that the Lord would bless my family while I am away.
A friend was telling her boys about my trip and all the support that I would need along the way. After a while, her youngest gave her all his spending money and promptly turned to his brothers asking them what they were planning to give toward my trip. God is good. You see, it doesn’t matter what the amount was that they gave because it came from the hearts of children. I see this money as the seed He will use to cultivate the work He has for me to do.
I need $17,600 for The World Race. You can either give a monthly or a one-time donation. I have calculated that if 50 people committed to giving $32 each month of my trip, I would meet my goal. Please pray about supporting me either prayerfully or financially during this trip. I would also ask you to pray that the Lord would financially provide for my other financial obligations that I have while I am on the race.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions. You may write “appealed by” and my name in the memo section of the check if you wish. All donations should be mailed to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all the necessary information. Adventures in Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult your tax advisor.
