Ok, so if you found this page, you probably know me and have heard about what I will be doing this next year! If you do not know much about The World Race, please check out the World Race Promo Video, which I will put up as soon as I can figure out how to do it.
PREPARATION…..this exemplifies my life right now! The Lord is preparing my mind, body and spirit for this crazy journey around the world that I am about to embarq upon.
In this preparation process, I am learning about lots of things I never considered before, such as tents, backpacks, headlamps, water-proof shoes, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, sleeping bag liners, and the list continues. By the way, did I mention that I have an aversion to tents!? I think they stink….My version of camping is sleeping in a really nice RV, which I could never afford. Thus, I don’t camp. But let me remind you that I am going on a trip where I will live out of a tent for weeks at a time……Preparation.
Whoever knew that there were so many different kinds of these things! For instance, sleeping bags come in varying degrees. Why anyone would want to be sleeping outside when it is below 30 degrees is beyond my comprehension! But apparently people do it and enjoy it!! I must really be sheltered.
Body…so going on this race means that I need to prepare my body…which means excercise, celery and water. So, please be praying that I begin to crave celery and enjoy excercising!! Seriously, I do need to learn to like excercising because it is going to be my best friend in the next three months, so please be praying for my roommate…..She will need lots of patience and encouragement in this preparation process while I learn to enjoy excercise!
And last but not least, spiritually the preparation continues. I can’t say that the spiritual preparation has begun because it has always been a part of my life. I just think He is stretching every inch of me right now. But He is good!!
As preparation for the race, I will be going to a training camp in Georgia from April 4-13, so please be praying for all of us who will be attending. I am so excited to meet my fellow racers and to get to know the people who will be my family for this next year.
