My name is Melanee Zorrilla and I just graduated from The
University of Georgia May 2010 with an accounting degree. I am about to
move home, which just recently became Discovery
Bay, CA, until I
leave in January for the World Race! I have two brothers (one older and
one younger), and they are my best friends. I have two wonderful parents
who have always been supportive in everything I do, especially as I take this
giant leap of faith in doing the World Race.
I have spent the summer doing Summer Leadership Project in Panama City Beach with Campus Outreach Atlanta, the
campus ministry I got involved with at school. It has been an absolutely
amazing experience. Surrounding myself with a group of Christians who
have the same focus, Jesus, really allowed me to fix my my eyes on Christ and
grow so much closer to him. I am so thankful for the opportunity and all
that it has done to help equip me for my next adventure.
I have always struggled with holding on tightly to the
things that I think is best for me in this world. Over the past year I have loosened my grip on my life, and
allowed God to begin shaping me in the person He wants me to become. As I
let go of what I always thought my life should be like, I am allowing God to
lead me on the path that He knows is right for me.
I don’t know what the future holds but I do know that He has
lead me to the World Race, and I couldn’t be any more excited!
