WELCOME TO MY WORLD RACE BLOG!
Who I am:
First and foremost I am a daughter of the King. I can personally testify that I do not know where I would be today without the strength, comfort, love, and protection of God.
I am 24 years old. Born and raised in the biggest littlest state of Rhode Island. I went to college to study Music Business, earned my degree, and landed in the Music City (Nashville, Tennessee) to pursue my dream.
I am a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin, a friend, a nanny, a mentor, a mentee, and the mama of the cutest puppy you ever did see.
My Hobbies:
I have many ambitions and many passions. I enjoy singing, playing instruments of many kinds, writing, coloring, photography, videography, dance, theater, intramural sports, hiking, biking, running, swimming, boating, ice skating, snow boarding (Did I miss anything?), traveling, playing with and teaching children, and I’m pretty much up for anything that doesn’t involve eating things that were not meant to be eaten.
Random Facts:
-
Although I mostly use the creative side of my brain, I like charts, lists, numbers, and planning.
-
I would rather watch a movie than read a book. but, I am the WORST at movie quotes. Go ahead, quote my favorite movie and see if I can “name that movie“. I can’t.
-
I’m very outgoing and love to make friends, but I’ve recently found a love of alone time.
-
Most of my Bucket List contains places I want to visit and extreme sports I want to try.
-
I’m not afraid to be me; I’ve only been embarrassed twice in my life and I couldn’t actually tell you what those times were because I don’t remember anymore.
-
I don’t like olives and I don’t like ketchup. Therefore, I am allergic.
-
When I was younger I wanted a chimpanzee that I could dress in overalls and call Abraham. To this day I would love to own a teacup pig. I would tell you her name but you would steal it because it is perfect, and we would end up fighting, I would win, and we would not be friends. You’re welcome for saving us from that mess. (Just kidding!)
Why the World Race:
God placed missions on my heart several times throughout my life, but in a huge way this past Fall. I knew I wanted to do something big with my life– something that mattered. I learned about The World Race through a friend who is currently out on the field. Ever since I clicked on the website I became hooked!
I have always had a love for helping people, connecting with people, and just investing in the lives of others. I love to travel and have always wanted to see the world! Specifically, I’ve had a love for the Spanish language and culture for the majority of my life as I have family in Spain. I’ve been “planning” a backpacking trip for years as I have often wondered how my life would be without all of the many things I now see as necessities.
All of that being said, I truly believe that this is what God is calling me to do and I am thrilled! I greatly appreciate all the love and support I have received and know I will continue to receive throughout this adventure!
Colossians 3:23-24: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
