So I have been purusing the multiple blogs of racers who are launching this week. [sidenote: Go September Squads!! You guys are going to rock the world for Jesus in rad, amazing, beautiful ways! Can't wait to follow in your footsteps in a few months]
Anyway- as I have been bookmarking, copy/pasting and favoriting these blogs as to come up with a packing list of my own I realized there is one thing that I am sure will not be on anyone's list but mine.
And that, my friends, is a flying frog.

The biggest pictured on is a small cushy, stuffed animal that will be shoved into my pack.
And yes, there is a story behind it.
See I have this awesome best friend. Her name is Jessica. We've known each other since preschool. So our friendship is going about about 23 years. We've been through everything together. I repeat EVERYTHING. I as the Maid of Honor in her wedding- I'm the Godmother to her beautiful twin girls. We've lived life. [and we're excited if only for a few months to actually live life in the same town before I launch for the race]

And on one of our many adventures we were visiting my aunt and uncles in San Fran where we happened upon [in my aunt's kitchen] a flying frog like the orange one in the above picture. And for some reason saying "I don't give a flying frog" was hilarious to us.
And wahlah. Insert inside joke. Insert eagle eyes to find a flying frog. And let me tell you. They are hard to find. The stuffed animal my mom found at Ikea. I cannot remember where the orange one came from- I think Jess gave it to me.
The christmas ornament? Here is the best part. So Christmas 2 years ago, Jess and I exchanged presents. And burst out laughing as we each opened our gifts from each other. Why? We bought each other the same present. That ornament and Bath and Body works.
Because we are awesome like that.
So why do I share this all? What does it have to do with my WR?
This frog, this simple, silly stuffed animal means a lot to me. It's gone a lot of places and will go a ton of places in 2013. It's ready to see the world. It's ready to tell people about Jesus [ok, maybe that's me. I'm ready to tell people about Jesus.]
And I'm getting so much closer. I am about 1200 dollars away from my first deadline. I'm 15% totally funded. I have a tent, a pack, medical insurance, a plane ticket to Training camp, and trusting in God that it is all going to work out.
I'm working on some sort of prayer calendar. Ways you can pray each day of the race, but it's a project.
If you would like to give financial- click the support button on the side of the blog and if have questions or would like to give in other ways please shoot me a message.
Thank you to those who have given–you mean more then you know!
I want to leave you with words from a spoken word written by Nick Benoit who is the creative director at my church. [You can check out his work here: http://www.nickbenoit.com]
"cause what the world
needs is to see our faith
put in action,
a natural reaction
to a Love that has come
now come upon us,
to compel us,
to propel us,
toward Christ-likeness"
