Ministry of the month:

This month my team the 112 lived in a village of the Kampong Speu province in Cambodia. We worked with Rah helping teach 7 different English classes through the day and leading devotions at night.

My English class was the 8 and 9 year olds. I loved them but they also drove me nuts. My translator was Rota (rowta). I love that girl! I mostly taught them body parts, action words and simple children worship. Also: it was mostly boys.

Another part of ministry was one on one time (no, this ministry has never had a world race team…kidding!) We would hang out talking to the teenagers on the bamboo deck outside our house every day.

My favorite part of our devotion time at night was we taught the kids in the village the Nsquad theme song: Relentless!

 Living Situation:

The 6 of us were in our tents (to keep the mosquitos and lizards at bay) in a team house a stones throw from where we ate our meals/ bathroom facilities (bucket showers/squatty potty). We had a lot of room and a separate for our bags, a lock on the door, a roof over our heads (which was awesome because tents + rain is my LEAST favorite thing on the WR).

There was electricity and a personal AC (ie fan) for each of us.

 Church:

For the first time on the race we had no official church. Just worship with the kiddos and family every night!

 Food:

We had meals prepared for us by the teenage girls and women in the village. They’d never had an all girls team before so we were an anomly to them. Not really eating meat. Lots of bananas (fried and normal). Lots of veggies. We ate fries, mashed potatos and massive amounts of sweet chili sauce. Ice coffee every morning.

 Spiritual Lesson:

Wholeheartedness. Being enough. Finding my balance. Contentness. Peace. Praying in the rice fields.

 Biggest Challenge:

Illness. I had to visit a clinic four times with a HORRIBLE leg infection. And then of course: the 112 turning into teampink eye. We all got what they call "cambodian small eye" aka Pink Eye on CRACK.

 Random WR moment:

The fact that SO many WR I know have been to KSpeu! And getting to meet my WR twitter friend Brandi!

 Favorite memory:

Before we went to ministry we had a mini debrief in Siem Reap. 3 days of mexican food and fun. Plus a trip to Angkor Wat with #teamhashtuk. Anytime with Nsquad is always a favorite. SHOuT out to #teamhasktuk

 What I will miss:

Sitting out on the bamboo cabana in the afternoon, in the breeze, while Nay played with my hair.

Prayer request:

HEALTH. The 112 is down for the count!

TRANSISTION: As the race ends and real life smacks us in the face.

VISION: Into what is next.

There will be more blogs headed your way with my learning, loving, and life.

Thank you all for your support. It means more than you know.
