To my fabulous friends and family (and those who have stumbled upon my blog):

I am pretty sure you know what this letter is about. I haven’t been able to really contain my excitement, joy and let’s be honest, my slight terror about my plans for 2013. And if you don’t know; if I haven’t rattled off a list of countries to you yet, here it is: Next year I am going out of the country for 11 months to make stops in 11 countries to work with kids, live in communities, build things, do hard work and of course and most importantly to tell people about Jesus.

I am going to be participating in “The World Race”. I am still in slight shock that this is the path my life is going on, but before I get way to ahead of myself- let me start at the beginning.

In October of 2011 I felt a stirring in my heart that it was time for something new, time for a new season of my life to get ready to begin. And I thought that is was just leaving the preschool, stepping out of a lovely family and a job I had been at for five years.

But as is usually the case, God had a bigger plan for me. If you remember I went to South Africa last summer and on that trip I met a girl named Michelle who had in fact gone on a World Race trip. We sat staring out at the mountains and vineyards in South Africa and I realized that this was something I might want to do. But I brushed it of. There was no way I could!

Fast-forward to May of this year. I had gave my notice I was leaving my job, I was preparing to jump into this crazy story and of course I had survived getting hit by a car… So many things had happened.

Then one day I found myself randomly on the Adventures in Missions World Race website. And I applied. And about 2 weeks later? I was accepted.

And that was beginning of this journey.

So in January I will be heading out with a squad of fifty and a team of six to go to 11 different countries and live in each for a month. To be in community, to play with kids, to help the sick, to build things, to share stories and to do whatever else may come our way. I will be living out of a backpack for about a year. Probably not showering a lot. I’ll get sick, I’ll climb mountains, I’ll hug and play with kids on almost every continent. I’ll find things out about myself that I never knew. And I am so excited.

The countries I will be traveling to are: Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Ukraine, Romania, Swaziland, South Africa, Mozambique, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia. 2013 is going to be a big adventure. And I would love if you went along with me!

There are three big ways you can support me on this journey:

  1. Prayerfully. To me this is the most important. I am going to be away from everything of comfort. I am almost for sure going to get sick, going to have bad days, going to break down and knowing that I have people praying for me and thinking of me makes a world of difference. To find out what I am up to and where I am in this journey please check out and subscribe to my blog: meghanreeve.theworldrace.org . I can say from personal experience of being overseas and having comments from loved ones on my blog always brings a smile to my face.
  2. Financially: An adventure of this magnitude does cost accordingly. And the 15,500 dollar amount seems overwhelming sometimes. But even the smallest bit can help. If only 25 people gave $50 dollars monthly along with a few other one time donations I would reach my goal of being fully funded. To donate you can click the support me button on my blog–and either donate electronically or follow the instructions on donating via mail.
  3. Wish List: There are a lot of supplies I am going to be needing for this trip and once again any little bit helps! Check out my blog for my camping supplies/ other needs wish list!

Thank you for your love and support in my life. I can’t wait to begin this journey and to be able to share with you all of my adventures around the world!

With much love and blessings
