If someone were to walk up to me right now and say, "Who are you?"  My response would be, "I'm Meghan Hill.  I live in Columbus NC.  I work at St Luke's Hospital.  I love kids. I enjoy spending time with friends." And it wasn't until recently I really began to think…"is that who I am?"  I spend so much time worrying about what other people think about me, and how they would describe me and say who I am….but what about my Father.  Who does He say I am?  When asked to describe myself, the majority of the time I use the description others us about me.  Shouldn't what my Heavenly Father, and Creator says about me have more influence over me and my emotions than what the world says? 

  • The world says, "You're overweight." So I go on a diet.
  • The world says, "You're not pretty enough."  So I wear makeup to try and make myself pretty (only lasted a month).
  • The world says, "You have issues? Get it together we don't care."  So I keep this bottled up inside.
  • The world says, "You need to have the latest….." So I work overtime at work to make the money to buy the latest trend.
  • The world says, "You don't fit in".  So I comprise who I am and my morals to be accepted.
  • The world says, "You're 27 and you aren't married and don't have kids.  What's wrong with you?" So I lie and say, "well I've never wanted to get married.  And I like watching other people's kids better than having my own."

I will never be what the world tells me I need to be in order to be successful.  And if I stopped there I'd be depressed!! BUT God has something to say

  • God says, "You are perfect.  You were made in MY image."  Gen 1:27
  • God says, "You are beautiful from the inside out.  I see your heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
  • God says, "I love you so much, I sent My Son to die for you."  John 3:16
  • God says, "You have issues and burdens? That's ok, come to Me.  I want to help you."  Matt 11:28-30
  • God says, "I care about you so much I will not leave you like you are.  I will help you grow."  James 1:2-4
  • God says, "I have plans for you!!  Trust Me!" Jeremiah 29:11
  • God says, "I want you to live with Me for ETERNITY!!  I am preparing a place for you!"  John 14:2-3

Today I am living in the truth of who God says I am.  I am the child of THE KING.  I am a princess, and my Daddy is the King!
