Growing up I can remember watching women go to the alter Sunday after Sunday wondering why on earth did they go up there that much. At that age, to me the alter was a scary place. Everyone who went up there came away crying, so why did these ladies want to cry in front of the whole church every week? As I got older I learned that they were passionately praying for their husbands. Praying for their salvation, praying that they would step into the role of being the man that God had called them to be. To be the head of their families, to lead their families and take their families to church. One by one I saw those prayers answered. One by one the pews filled and the ladies no longer sat alone, but proudly sat by their husbands.

Of all the mission trips I have been on in the past, even in high school there has always been more women than men. In high school, I didn't really think much about it because we would joke around that it was a girls only trip with just a few guys as body guards. Again at training camp for the World Race this past July I noticed the huge difference in numbers. I think it is fair to say that probably 80-85% of the attendees were women. There are so few guys there aren't enough to put a guy on every time so we have several all girls teams.

This past Sunday as I stood before the church and gave my testimony, I noticed once again the absence of men in the congregation. A matter of fact, out of 40 or so people there were only 3 guys (that includes the pastor). In the Bible studies this month there are no men in attendance. Even on Saturdays at the young married couples Bible studies there was only one young man in attendance.

So my question is….WHERE ARE THE MEN?

Where are the godly husbands and fathers who sit their families down for devotions every night? Where are the godly husbands and fathers who pray over their families as they are sleeping?

Where are the godly fathers who discipline their children and teach them right from wrong?

Where are the godly husbands and fathers who take their families to church?

Where are the godly husbands who treat their wives with respect and love? The same love that God has for the church?

MEN WHERE ARE YOU? It's time you come back to church. It's time you repent of your sins and set the example for your sons on how a man should act. It's time you step into the role that Christ has given you in the Bible. Men, you want your daughters to marry someone who will treat them like a queen, but what example are you setting for them as a husband to their mother?

My prayer is for the men of this world. That you would step into all the incredible things that God has prepared for you.
