Dear Future World Racer,

When your driver tells you it will only take you 10 hours to reach your new ministry site for the month….THEY ARE LYING TO YOU!!! There's no nice way to put it!! And don't even ask Google because in American time it should only take 10 hours but roads in third world countries are not the same as roads in America!  Nothing is the same as in America.  A few tidbits of advice for you as you embark on your journey…

1. Learn to sleep on travel days.  The roads will be bumpy, rough and sometimes you won't even travel on anything that resembles a road so save yourself from getting carsick and just go to sleep.  Your squad mates won't do anything too embarrassing to you while your sleeping.  If they are smart they will sleep too!!

2.  Always have toilet paper on hand.  When you stop for bathroom breaks on travel days….well lets just say you might just have a hole!  Always have toilet paper because it is like having a bar of gold!! You will be very popular with your squad mates.

3.  Adding onto #2, having baby wipes and hand sanitizer is a pretty good idea too!

4.  Always have your iPod FULLY charged at the beginning of your trip.

5.  SNACKS!!! Chances are you will not stop for every meal so be prepared!!!  God bless peanut butter and a spoon!!!

We left Antigua, Guatemala at 4:30 Friday morning.  We reached the Honduras border around 1:30 (I think).  Crossing the border was fairly easy but just took a long time to get 30 something people through customs and loaded back into the bus.  It was a little after 2pm, and the driver looks at me and says only a few more hours!  Well I knew that wasn't true because we were no where near San Pedro Sula where I flew into Honduras back in March!!

Dinner was at a Texaco gas station around midnight (Thanks Mud Creek Honduras team for preparing me for that!) We finally arrived at our ministry site at 3 am, 22 1/2 hours later!  It was a long day, but I know one of our shorter travel days.

So excited to be back in Honduras serving!! Can't wait to see what God has in store this month!
