“People can tame all kids of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!” James 3:7-10
We hadn’t even made it to month 6 debrief and I was already dreading it. Rumors of team changes had started at the end of month 5 debrief and the closer we got to the end of month 6 the more talk there was about it. Some people said our new squad leaders are against team changes so there would be none, some said there would only be a few minor changes, and others said it was going to be a HUGE change and everyone would be affected. I don’t like change, even when I know it is necessary.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and mind as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
We’ve been a team for only a week but it seems like I have known these amazing women of God for much longer than that. There is something about this team that I have yet to experience on my other two teams and that excites me. Even though we are mourning the loss of our old teams, everyone is already choosing in, is fully present, loves and serves each other well. God has big plans in store for us and we are going to take Cambodia, India, and Africa by storm!!
