“When things don’t go as you would like, accept the situation immediately.  Remember that I am sovereign over your circumstances, and humble yourself under My mighty hand.  Rejoice in what I am doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding. “   Jesus Calling

As I read this my heart dropped, I knew what the day ahead would hold.  My stomach was in knots as the doctor, squad leaders, and my team leader began discussing the next steps.  I had fought and done everything I could to convince my team of doctors (6 doctors), AIM staff in the states, and my fellow squad mates that I was healthy enough to stay and finish the next 2 months.  Despite all my pleading, prayers, attempts to prove I could walk and carry my pack…everything came down to this meeting.

The meeting was quick and the decision was unanimous…the insurance company would be contacted and I will be in America within a week to seek further medical attention.

My heart is broken.  I keep telling God, I didn’t sign up for 9 months and He gently reminds me I signed up to do His will.  Leaving the race isn’t leaving the mission field, there is a mission field waiting for me at home.  The work He has started in my life doesn’t end when I get on that plane in a few days…in fact He is just getting started.

So….I’m coming home!!!
