A few weeks ago I wrote a blog, What I Want, about my goals for that specific weekend at the lake.  I said I was beginning to really pray about goals for this journey over the next 11 months, and about life in general.  I have been praying about this and the very first thing God has revealed to me is it isn’t about what I want, but what He wants for me and how He wants to use me.  My goals need to line up with His will. 
So here are my goals for the next 11 months, and I’m sure as time goes on this list will grow. 

  1. Experience God in new ways.  Ways I have already:

    1. Volcano in Guatemala
    2. Waterfalls in Guatemala
    3. Thunderstorms in Guatemala
    4. Heat lightening in Honduras
    5. Sand on the beach in Honduras


"How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. The cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!" Psalm 139:17-18a

  1. Be intentional in my relationships

    1. Teammates

      1. One on one time
      2. Encourage
      3. Pray with and for
    2. Family and Friends back home

      1. Personal emails
      2. Pray for daily
    3. L-Squad

      1. Personal emails of encouragement
      2. Pray for daily
    4. Ministry Contacts

      1. One on one time when possible
      2. Personal emails of encouragement
      3. Pray for daily
      4. Tell their stories to others through blogs.  Spread the word and look for supporters.

  1. Seek God in a new, deeper way.

    1. Be intentional in my relationship with Christ

      1. Daily time with God
    2. Don’t get caught up in “doing” for Christ.

      1. Eph 2:8
    3. Don’t just go through the routine-pray, worship, read the Bible and be done.

      1. Just sit and be quiet.  Wait for God to speak to me. 
    4. Apply what I learn every day

      1. James 1:22
  2. Be intentional in my quiet times

    1. Monthly word study
    2. Read through the Bible this year (11 months)
    3. Journal-black pen when I’m talking to God, red pen when He speaks to me
    4. Have a team mate hold me accountable to my quiet times.

  1. Be open to all God has for me this year

    1. Be open experiencing God in new ways

      1. Gifts of the Holy Spirit

        1. Discover my gifts and practice using them

I have an idea of what my future might look like, but for now I am keeping all my options open for what God wants.  I've laid my dreams, plans and future on the alter and am waiting to here from Him.
